monomethyncyanines with different functional groups. Thirty five new derivatives of 2,6-dimehtyl-4-(3-mehtyl-3H-benzothiazol-2-ilidenmethyl)-1-alkyl-pyridinium perchlorate were synthesized. Spectral-luminescent properties were studied for the free dyes and in complexes with DNA, RNA and proteins. The influence of the nature of functional groups on fluorescent properties of the dyes in complexes with biopolymers was investigated. We proposed highly fluorescent cyanine dyes for the use as probes for DNA (D-19), RNA (D-8) and BSA (P-5) detection.
