grammatical features of interjections are syntactic independence and formal/clausal isolation (interjections, contrary to other parts of speech, cannot be combined with other members of the sentence/clause, they can serve as clause equivalents, used in isolation, rather than members of the sentence).

The results of the present research have found their application in the process of compiling dictionary of French interjections.
