The dissertation is devoted to the systematic analysis of the translator’s activity of the Ukrainian writer Marko Vovchok. The creative heritage of Marko Vovchok as the translator and organiser of the translations’ activities is studied; her numerous translations from French literature are analysed and their place in strengthening of the French-Ukrainian literary relations (connections) is outlined.

For the first time Marko Vovchok’s own translations are compared on the literary criticism level with the origin sources, their role both in her own creative heritage and in the wider European literary background is determined.
