The principle attention is given to the exemination of such aspects:

determination of aesthetic basis of dramaturgy of Cherkasenko, analy-

sis of dramatic realization of his plays and examination of the achi-

evements of Cherkasenko as a critic. Besides, there is given the de-

tailed and generalized biography chronicle of S.Cherkasenko. And so,

this investigation, filling up one of the "gaps" in the histiry of

national culture, may be useful when writing the really new history

of Ukrainian art, nesessity in which is very high today.
