The dissertation is devoted to studies of psychological characteristics of empathy formation for physicians to be. It is shown that the emotional identification as a necessary condition of successful empathy in progress is the basis of humans’ ability to feel with. In thesis meaning of empathy is specified as well as correlation of empathy level with the individual qualities of students-physicians is studied. The correlation is shown between empathy level and sex, faculty, year of education. It is determined that students’ empathy connects with the identification type and depends on a person’s psychological characteristics.

The training course for empathy development of students-physicians has been developed and implemented in practice. Researchers shows increasing of empathy level for students-physicians under purposeful training activities, which promote the development of emotional-sensitive sphere under professional training stages.
