утверждении факта взаимопроникновения и синтеза двух культурных систем. В работе акцентируется роль художественного перевода как одной из основных форм "реализации" инонационального произведения в семантическом поле новой культуры.
Анализ англоязычных переводов прозы И. Качуровского свидетельствует об их общелитературном характере, определяет "уровни" их "вхождения" в чужой мир, адаптацию в новом национально-культурном пространстве.
В диссертации осуществлено типологическое сравнение оригинальных произведений И. Качуровского "Путь неизвестного" и "По ту сторону бездны" с их англоязычными версиями с позиций компаративистики, герменевтики и рецептивной эстетики.

The author in the thesis studies mechanisms of reception of Igor Kachurowsky’s prose in the English-speaking world. Conceptual approach to the problem above lies in revealing mutual penetration and synthesis of two cultural systems. Special attention is devoted to the role of translation as one of the basic forms of literary work “realisation” in a semantic field of a new cultural environment, a productive way of interpreting the ideas of the original text and a powerful way of bringing the experience of one culture into another.
Investigation of Igor Kachurowsky’s prose translated into English, testifies to its general literary character, throws light on the "levels" of its reception in a foreign discourse and adaptation in the new cultural setting. The first step was realised through translations (Y.Tkuch, L.Kachurowska) which stimulated English readers’ interest to the иmigrи writer and helped to create his unique individual style in the multicultural diversity of the English-speaking world and preserve his identity while entering new society. Furthermore, critical essays and reviews highlighted the impact of Igor Kachurowsky’s prose on foreign readers and provided its popularity in the English-speaking world.
The researcher summarizes the Ukrainian and foreign theories based on the translation process studies and represents peculiarities of analysis of Igor Kachurowsky’s prosaic works with their English versions within the comparative studies of literature, hermeneutics and receptive aesthetics.
The thesis investigates the factors influencing upon the process of congenual translation, reveals the differences and peculiarities of the Ukrainian and English languages on all levels of the textual structure. Being of a high artistic value the translations made by Y.Tkuch and L.Kachurowska constitute an important contribution to the new cultural system.
